Alrighty, another Fuegocaster is up for sale, and this one is fire! The body is Basswood and cut by Scott at Sand Hill. So this one was prepped and I mixed up our custom Smokestack color into a metallic, and laid down five coats and then seven thin coats of clear lacquer. I love how this one aged. The color and the feel scream vintage to me. It’s tough to get checking to pop on deep and dark colors like this one, but was able to get tight thin lines throughout the finish.
The neck was finished with clear lacquer and buffed to a super smooth satin finish. Thiese roasted maple/rosewood necks are incredibly comfy with a medium C profile that is a little more substantial than a Fender slim C, but not super chunky either!
From there I built a modified Strat harness for this one; 5way, master volume and master tone. These mini humbuckers are badass and pair perfectly with the dual blade tele bucker. This pairing is so versatile, you can cover just about any genre you can think of! These pickups are beefy, have a sick midrange and have a super tight bottom end.
And we did something a little different with the bridge. Instead of going with an ashtray bridge, the bridge pickup was directly mounted to the body and instead I gave it a hardtail bridge with six individual saddles. My buddy Alex suggested this “Tom Anderson” style look, and man it looks badass and completely vibes with the way the Fuegocaster looks! Anyway grab this one quick, these Fuego’s don’t hang around for very long!
